EASTER PRIZE MEETING 2015
The Annual South West DRA Prize Meeting was judged the most successful for several years with 80 marksmen and women competing over the three days of competition. The program consisted of Service Rifle, the Coolilup Cup on Easter Friday, and the South West Championships over the remaining two days. Added to the excellent field of entries, the weather proved to be warm and sunny, with just enough conditions to allow the true marksmen to show their mettle.
COOLILUP CUP & ANZAC CENTENNIAL TROPHY
The Coolilup Cup is traditionally shot over three ranges (300, 500 & 600m) on the first day of the Easter Competition. The Coolilup Cup is awarded to the top Target Rifle shooter on the day, while the F class winner also receives a trophy. This year, due to 2015 marking the Centennial of the WW1 Gallipoli landings, the SWDRA's Patron, Ms Nola Marino, Federal Member for Forrest, kindly donated a unique trophy for the top target rifle competitor.
The overall competition on the day was closely fought, especially between East Perth shooter Gerry Austgen and Goldfields marksman John Moore. Both shooters have won this event in the past, and this year's competition resulted in both men finishing on the maximum score of 150 with 21 centre bulls. After a shoot off, Gerry Austgen was declared the winner.
Dennis Blechynden top scored in F Standard while Bob Kinnear narrowly won F Open from Brett Bunyan and Brad Day.
T-TR was won by Ray Hurley, who was a clear winner.

SWDRA OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
Competition in the two day Open Championships was intense, particularly between Subiaco's Vern Putter and the Goldfield's John Moore. Both shot consistently well, and at the end of the first day's competition, Moore had a score of 199.26, just four centre bulls ahead of Putter.
The F Class competition was also closely contested, with Boddington's Mahlon Reid leading the day on 230.13, just one point ahead of Wurgabup's Dave Ogle on 229.14. F Open saw Busselton's Courtney Day's 236.15 edge out Bob Kinnear on 235.23 followed closely by Graham Oates with 235.19.
F-TR was led by Linda Shehan on 231.11, one point ahead of Ray Hurley who scored 230.14.
The second and final day of competition again provided fine weather with a cross range South Easterly which kept shooters honest throughout the day.
The Target rifle competition became a two man contest. Putter and Moore virtually went toe to toe for the day, and the final result came down to the last shot. In the final tally, the South West Championship for Target Rifle was won by Vern Putter of Subiaco with a score of 346.42, only three centre bulls ahead of John Moore. This was a very tight finish, and a great spectacle for the gallery.
