HORNIBROOK SHIELD
COOLILUP RANGE - 26TH AUGUST
The fourth and final team shoot for the SWDRA's 2018 fixtures took place at the Coolilup Range under fine conditions which included high cloud cover with mainly sunny weather, accompanied by light but variable cross winds.
Darkan Blue's strong start at the 600m stage was rewarded by taking out the off rifle honours, scoring 168.10, two points ahead of Manjimup and showing a clean pair of heels to the Busselton and Bunbury teams. Darkan's Geoff Gooding scored a possible at this range, as did Milentis and Forsberg from Manjimup.
The 700m stage belonged to Busselton, who scored 171.8, with possibles being recorded by Sue, Wdowinski and Oldfield. Darkan's Lex Jones and the Manjimup pair of Milentis and Forsberg also recorded possibles. Darkan remained in touch, scoring 170.18
The third and final stage over 800m was claimed by Darkan, who scored a collective 170.15, with Manjimup second on 166.3, followed by Busselton with 154 and Bunbury on 148.
The final outcome for the Hornibrook saw the Darkan team take out off rifle honours with a total of 508.43, seven points clear of second placed Manjimup on 501.40. Busselton ran third and Bunbury fourth.
The Hornibrook Shield, based on Handicap was won by Darkan, who exceed the 525 maximum handicap score. Busselton Red ran second, followed by Manjimup on 514 and Bunbury bringing up the rear.

Top individual scores were: Off Rifle - Mick Forberg with 105.9, while the Individual Handicap score was shared by Darkan's Lex Jones and Busselton's Wayne Oldfield.

The Harry Wunnenberg Shield goes to the top Handicap Aggregate for the season, and was won by Busselton Red with a score of 1575. Manjimup Red were second on 1556 with Darkan Blue and Bunbury Blue making up the next two places.

As is usual, members of clubs who shoot F Class shot alongside the TR teams. F Open was convincingly won by Brad Day with a combined three range score of 179.14 from 180, while F Std's top score was achieved by Graham Oates on 173.11
